Welding fume extraction is mandatory inj welding and related processes, such as when machining steel and welding different types of steel together.
Bevri Wheels b.v. in Zeewolde has a modern production line for the development, production and delivery of rims for industry, arable farmers, contractors and transporters. Various types of steel are used in the production of rims. The Bevri Wheels workshop was recently completely renovated. Meconaf was involved in this project to provide the welding fume extraction system.
Healthy working environment
It is common knowledge that welding releases hazardous welding fumes. Therefore, we first inventoried what is needed in terms of extraction in order to provide a healthy working environment for the employees. After this, various solutions were worked out and applied.
Welding fume extraction and grinding dust capture
First, for ordinary bonding and welding operations, welding fume extraction arms were suspended. Second, for automatic welding, a large exhaust hood with edge extraction and fins was installed to extract welding fumes. In addition, a grinding wall was installed at the grinding work site to capture grinding dust.
Finally, the whole is extracted by an industrial compressed air cleaned cartridge filter with a capacity of 11,000m³/h. The piping is constructed with longitudinally welded pipes and bends. This creates very little resistance in the piping in favor of the extraction capacity.

This installation was put together to create a healthy working environment first and foremost, while ensuring optimal extraction. Entirely in accordance with the client’s wishes. Perhaps needless to say, a good (and well-maintained) extraction system also contributes to an uninterrupted production process.
