Dust and skin extraction onions and flower bulbs

Processing onions and flower bulbs releases a lot of dust. Loose sheets also cause contamination on the floor under and around the machines. Furthermore, the skins can cause malfunctions during processing and especially during product packaging. Thereby, it is surely your wish to deliver a high-quality end product, by packing it as cleanly as possible.

Spot extraction and skin extraction

Our advice is to isolate the processing machines that produce the dust as much as possible in the processing area. We provide the most dust-producing machines in onion processing, such as onion tippers, roll pre-sorting units and grading machines with spot extraction by placing a dust hood around the dust source. Incidentally, the same can be done with the crate tipper/bunker combinations and de-clusterers when processing flower bulbs.

For skin extraction, we use height-adjustable suction hoods. We install these hoods in appropriate locations for optimal removal of sheets from the product stream.

Energy saving cyclone filter systems

The piping leads through the various extraction points to the extraction system. The most commonly used installations for dust and sheet extraction at flower bulbs is our standard cyclone installation. In contrast, at companies that process onions all year round, we install a cyclone filter installation. The combination of cyclone operation and the built-in cylindrical filter cartridges cleans the extracted air so that it can be returned to the processing area. With this, you hardly lose any heat inside. This saves you a lot of energy!

Dirt Collection

The dirt is collected under this cyclone system or cyclone filter system in a box. Other options for dirt collection include compactors, which reduce the dirt volume many times over.
