Replacing filter system at Timmer Factory

At a Carpentry factory in the south of the country, we replaced an old filter system for a new one. After determining the required and desired capacity, we created a design. Because even though our filter installations are similar, they are all different.

Of course, we first look at an existing type that fits best. But it remains customized, because no situation is the same. Here we chose an IBF type filter unit in an outdoor installation. We use these frequently in the wood industry because they are very suitable for extracting wood dust and comply with current laws and regulations. This filter unit is an optimally functioning system, has a dry fire line and efficient removal of material. For example, at this customer we dispose of wood waste by means of an auger/airlock combination and transport it seamlessly to a waste container.

Efficiency is at the heart of our approach

Filter plants of the IBF type operate on the vacuum principle. This means that the fans are placed on the clean air side and therefore transport only clean air. The dirt is already separated by the filter cloths before that. This makes it possible to apply high efficiency fans. This gives significant energy savings that can reach up to 30%. The use of multiple mains further increases efficiency. In addition, the filter installation is equipped with a cascade system in which the fans switch on and off as required, resulting in even greater energy savings and optimum suction power at all times. The plant complies with European directives and is CE marked, built with modern and proprietary technology.

Modular construction

In our own factory hall, we build the filter installation in modules. Prior to transport, all materials required for commissioning the installation, such as pipes, bends, manifolds, shut-off valves and so on, are prepared. Our field service engineers then assemble the installation at the customer’s site.
