Blending system the ideal extraction for large workpieces

Often with large workpieces it is not possible to apply spot extraction. Room extraction must be used at these locations. When welding, rising hot air creates a so-called welding fume blanket. This welding fume blanket remains on 2/3 of the hall and in order to obtain good extraction, extraction must be applied in this area. An extraction system consists of a filter unit with an air distribution head. The air distribution head is equipped with nozzles with a very large throw. This blows the filtered air into the welding fume blanket. Due to the design of the nozzles, a large amount of air is set in motion and the dirty air is mixed with the clean air. Then the air is sucked back in and filtered by the filter unit. The required air exchange is achieved by means of a roof fan.

The capacity of the extraction system depends on several factors:

  • Dimension of the welding hall
  • Welding process
  • Number of welders
  • Power-on time
