Cyclone installation for new pre-sorting line of flower bulbs

In Agricultural sector, Flower bulb industry, Project

At R&M Obdam Tulips B.V. in Hem we have recently installed a suction installation. It concerns a cyclone installation specially tuned to the new pre-sorting line.

Pre-sorting the tulip harvest releases dust. In addition, removing loose sheets is important for the drying process. The tilting of the crates, the transitions from belt to belt and the movement of the product across the roller sorter also release a lot of dust. This then spreads into the processing area and is a nuisance to workers and can also interfere with the processing process.

Dust tent presorting line

To prevent this, we often recommend covering the whole of the presorting line with a so-called dust tent (in this project, one measuring 9 by 2 meters), and connecting it to the extraction system. This prevents the spread of dust in the working environment.

The cyclone installation is of the type MEC400 11 KW. In combination with two suction hoods, which are installed at the end of the belts for the sorted product and where sheet extraction takes place, the client also realizes a clean end product with this.

Visibly clean

Not only does the flower bulb company now have visibly clean flower bulbs but also a visibly cleaner working environment. We wish the Obdam brothers in Hem much success with the processing of flower bulbs and thank them for their trust in us.
