Ale Greidanus, 40 years with Meconaf

For 40 years Ale Greidanus has been in loyal service with Meconaf Afzuiginstallaties in Franeker. He began his journey as a 17-year-old boy, when the company was still located in his native village of Wjelsryp.

Ale is a true engineering genius, a “Willy Carrot” who has been busy coming up with innovative solutions under several bosses. In doing so, he has also managed to win patents. As an electrician, he builds control cabinets and writes computer programs for them. And he has made all this his own!

He lives and breathes technology. Outside his working hours he can always be found in his workshop, called ‘the ballroom’ and about which a while back a beautiful TV recording was made and broadcast by Hea of Omrop Fryslân. At the moment he is restoring a Ford Capri in which he also applies the latest technical gadgets.
Nice to mention that customers often ask for ‘the mechanic in wooden shoes’. Yes, that typifies our esteemed colleague. He really does always walk in clogs.

40 years at Meconaf

Of course, a fun anniversary party with and for Ale is planned. In doing so, we hope to be able to use his expertise for another decade or so.
